Cassette toilet · step by step

The camper has a cassette toilet. The cassette is emptied at a marked chemical disposal point — never in nature or a normal drain. It is quick and clean once you know the steps.

Where to empty

Empty only at a chemical toilet disposal point (tømmestasjon for kassett / kjemisk toalett) — found at campsites and motorhome service stations. Apps like Park4Night and CamperContact show them.

Never empty the cassette in nature, in a storm drain, or in a normal toilet that is not a designated chemical-waste point.

Emptying

Step by step

  1. Close the blade/valve. Make sure the toilet's blade (the slider that seals the bowl from the cassette) is closed before you start.
  2. Open the outside hatch on the side of the camper that gives access to the cassette (usually a small locked door low down).
  3. Release and slide out the cassette by its handle. Carry it upright to the disposal point.
  4. Point the pour spout over the disposal hole. Unscrew or pivot the spout cap.
  5. Press the vent button on the spout while pouring — this stops glugging and splashing and lets it empty smoothly.
  6. Rinse the cassette with the dedicated rinse tap or hose. Swirl and pour out a few times until clean.
  7. Add fresh toilet fluid. Pour the recommended dose of the blue chemical into the cassette (and a little water) so it is ready for use.
  8. Slide the cassette back in until it locks, close the spout cap, and shut and lock the outside hatch.

Use only the supplied blue chemical and thin toilet tissue. No wet wipes, no food waste, nothing else in the cassette — it blocks the system.

Empty before the level indicator turns red — a very full cassette is heavy and harder to handle.
